In 2022 Lima platform started as an initiative that support youth in agriculture especially in consultation and mentorship. This initiative was known as “ANKOD” and were formed by the team of Youth in Agriculture led by Oliver Kavishe to promote agriculture skills for youth and women in horticulture and poultry keeping. The goal was to create the network of youth to acquire appropriate and new skills that will help youth and women in Tanzania to pursue in Agriculture and reaching their full potential. Oliver were moved by the number of youth and women of his age who were unsuccessful in Agriculture.

After the initiative been known helping youth, other youth along the country started contact our expert David Raphael (he among of our very first expert volunteering to help youth) requesting join the group to acquire some useful skills. We initiated the WhatsApp group for easy knowledge and skills exchange. This platform become potential, it helped more than 100 youth and women in Agriculture.

During consultations and mentorship session we noted some of the repeated/common obstacles including lack of farm recording/report, lack of experts to help youth in agriculture, lack of market for agriculture products n.k. After realizing mentioned obstacles and more is where Lima platform under Empowering Youth and Women Organization for uploading agriculture and food security being born in May 2024, with the aim of empowering youth and women in Agri-food sector.

This is to say, formation of Lima platform was the natural process catalyzed by impactful events among youth and women in agriculture.
